REWE Group: The Future Is Firmly in Sight
Whether that be grocery shopping, DIY or garden supplies or your next holiday: As one of the leading trading and tourism companies in Europe, REWE Group has now been part of millions of people’s everyday lives for more than 90 years. Back in 1927, the cooperative REWE Group was founded in Cologne by 17 purchasing associations in order to organise joint trade with groceries.
Today, REWE Group employs approx. 384,000 members of staff and is active in 21 European countries with its brands, markets and travel agencies – both stationary and digitally. In the year 2022, the company achieved a total external turnover of approx. 84 billion euros.
REWE Group has been active in tourism since 1988, and operates its second core business – the world of travel – under the umbrella of DERTOUR Group.
