Back in 1927, the cooperative REWE Group was founded in Cologne by 17 purchasing associations in order to organise joint trade with groceries.
Today, REWE Group employs more than 380,000 members of staff and is active in 21 European countries with its brands, markets and travel agencies – both stationary and digitally. In the year 2020, the company achieved a total external turnover of approx. 76 billion euros.
Rewe Group has been active in tourism since 1988, and operates its second core business – the world of travel – under the umbrella of DER Touristik Group.
