You will become a consultation and sales expert for our customers, bringing them joy with the perfect travel products. What is more, you will gain an insight into foreign countries and cultures, but also into business topics. Exciting training courses and support from experienced colleagues will endow you will a great deal of expertise.
Your main task is the sale of travel services of all kinds for holidays and business travel. This includes classic travel products from catalogues – in other words, the typical summer holiday in Spain, Turkey or Greece, round trips put together yourself, such as through the USA or Australia, airlines tickets to all over the world, rail tickets, individual hotels or rental cars.
You are interested in finding out what happens behind the scenes of a tour operator? You would like to actively work on your own products, purchase services, calculate prices?
Our traineeship with a focus on travel management at the Frankfurt and Cologne locations offers you a wide-ranging overview of all tourism specialist areas and destinations as well as marketing and sales divisions. This affords you the opportunity to discover your personal talent as well as skills and to further develop them.

The tasks and development opportunities awaiting you at DER Touristik are just as diverse and exciting as the holiday destinations of our tour operators.
We successfully work with several cooperation partners, including universities of applied sciences and universities from Bergisch Gladbach, Frankfurt and Worms to Ravensburg. The Bachelor’s degree programmes comprise six semesters, with alternating theoretical and practical phases of three months duration in each case.
The universities of applied sciences impart skills in scientific working, technical and methodological knowledge as well as expertise in the respective focus areas. You then acquire practical skills during the hands-on orientation phases at DER Touristik locations in Frankfurt or Cologne, and directly apply theoretical knowledge to your own initial projects or in the specialist departments.
Trainees
During the 18-month assignment in various tourism or business areas, as a trainee you’ll take on demanding and interesting tasks and projects. During which you’ll receive intensive support from the specialist department and a mentor. You’ll also take part in professional training and personal development seminars. In the course of the programme, you’ll thus not only obtain in-depth knowledge on the entire corporate structure and respective work processes, but also the opportunity to establish networks at DER Touristik.
Trainee Programme Specific to the Specialist Field
Here trainees become acquainted with the various departments within a division. If they complete their programme in the field of finance, for instance, their assignments will include the accounting, controlling and treasury departments or destination management companies.
With our trainee programme, we prepare you for a responsible position in one of our tourism or business divisions.
